Community Health Drive Launched in Barnia
Published by Barnia Digital Hub • Nadia, West Bengal
A week-long health and wellness camp was inaugurated today in Barnia, targeting the elderly and children with free check-ups and diagnostic services. Organized by the local health center in collaboration with district medical officers, the initiative focuses on nutritional awareness and seasonal disease prevention. Doctors from the nearby district hospital are providing expert consultations, with a particular focus on addressing iron deficiency and respiratory health issues common in the area. The camp also distributed free essential medicines and vitamins to underprivileged families. Local community leaders assisted in spreading awareness, ensuring that remote villages within the Barnia block were reached. The health department has announced that if the turnout remains high, the camp will be extended by an additional three days to accommodate more residents. This effort is part of the broader 'Swasthya Sathi' outreach program, aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery in West Bengal.
